Lizard

This rustic bronze lizard caught our attention during the shopping spree in Spain. It adds interest to my plain wall at home as a decor.

One more reason why I love backpacking

Photo: taken in Annapuran Mountain, Nepal
Of course, one more reason that I love backpacking so much is that this is how I found my true love......

India trip

Srinager in Kashmir, and the most beautiful architecture in the world: Taj Mahal

Cappadocia, Turkey

One of my favourite country: Turkey

On the first sight, Cappadocia is a surreal place with many caves and moonscape. It is just like the 'Flinstone' where people stay in the caves. In this strange landscape, you simply exist in the time of the past!

Lisbon souveniour

As mentioned in the previously, we did not like Paris. Fortunately we covered two other countries, which we deeply fell in love with. One of them is Lisbon, Portugal.
Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal. It is an amazing city with unique architecture and living culture. One of the memorable place I visited is Alfama, which is the oldest district of Lisbon. Alfama is Lisbon's most emblematic quarter and one of the most rewarding for walkers and photographers thanks to its medieval alleys and outstanding views. Most of the older residents have lived here all their lives and retain a strong sense of community, although their rent-controlled homes are now dilapidated, and an increasing number of wealthier people are investing in their properties and moving in. Other renovated buildings directly below the castle have been converted into some of the city's most atmospheric and unique hotels.
This painting of Alfama is done on a wall tile, which vividly illustrates the lifestyle and architecture of the district. Offered px at USD15

Miniature of Arc de Triumphe, Paris

We visited this romantic city Paris in the year 2003, immediately after my graduation. My hubby (then was my bf) said this trip meant to be the honeymoon, since we were not going to have another trip soon after our wedding. However we didn't really love this city, since we were robbed on the very first day when we arrived in Paris.
We bought this souvenior from the street of Champs Elysees. The Arc de Triomphe is located at the north side of the Champs Elysees, Paris. The arch was designed in 1806 and was designed to be a landmark in the capital city. The sides are decorated with sculptures of battles. Inside the Arch are the names of the battles in which Napoleon's vistorious armies fought, and lists of his generals. From the roof of the Arch there are spectacular views of Paris.

Buddhist God & Goddess Stone Carving

Photo from http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/destinations/asia/sri-lanka?v=images&a=4

I love Sri Lanka. It is such a beautiful country rich in its culture, and blessed with its scenic nature. What a pity that it is marred with its political unstability and chaos. The photo illustrates the scenic ancient site at Sigiriya, which is one of my favourite site in Sri Lanka.
I bought this stone carving of the God figurine from a tout when waiting to board the bus. Was told that it is replicate from the same relief in the Sigiriya.
